Most people's minds go straight to birthdays and Christmas when they think about gifting food. Understandable. But if you look at the biscuits leaving The Biskery week after week, something far more interesting is happening. People are finding the most wonderfully unexpected reasons to send a box, and the reactions? Genuinely priceless.
Here are some of our favourites.
A Homecoming
Not a graduation. Not a birthday. Just the pure joy of someone you love walking back through the door.
Margaret ordered a bespoke box as a surprise for her daughter's homecoming. She told us it "made the occasion even more special" and that she "couldn't have asked for a more thoughtful, personal touch." But she's not alone, when another customer's daughter headed off travelling, she ordered a send-off gift box too. "She loved them too," she said. Whether someone is arriving home or setting off on an adventure, a biscuit marks the moment.
A "Thank You" to Your Solicitors
Yes, really. Gloria sent a box to her solicitors after they helped close several deals. "We wanted something a little bit special." She'd used our biscuits before and knew from experience that "people appreciate the gesture." Someone else had the same instinct but sent their box to their dentist and his team, and they loved the flavours too. There's something powerful about giving a gift to someone you're paying for a service. It says: I see you treated me well and I'm going to treat you well in return.

A Recruitment Day
When Johanna's HR team needed to stand out during a recruitment day, branded biscuits with QR codes were the unexpected answer. Candidates could scan them to learn more about the company and the biscuits themselves became the talking point. Her HR manager's verdict? "The biscuits went down a right treat." If you're trying to attract top talent, you want to be memorable. A biscuit can do that.
A Brand Event That People Couldn't Stop Talking About
Sara needed something that would make her brand event feel polished, personal, and memorable. Branded biscuits turned out to be "the perfect touch," and by the end of the evening guests were still talking about them. "Everyone couldn't get enough of them; both cute and delicious." When the details are right, people notice. And they remember.
A Client Relationship Worth Protecting
Zachary sent a biscuit box to a client as a simple thank you. And got this back: "That has really made me smile 😁." He described it as "a simple, cost-effective way of thanking a client and continuing to develop relationships." Not a dinner. Not a voucher. Just a single biscuit which landed perfectly.
A Marathon Finish Line
For four years running, we've sent personalised biscuits to Cure Parkinson's for their London Marathon team. Their project lead put it simply: "It is such a lovely way to thank our London Marathon runners who every year raise vital funds for our research." Whether it's a charity run, a sponsored walk, or a team fundraiser, biscuits are a surprisingly moving way to say well done.
International Women's Day at the Office
One customer ordered biscuits printed with their own design specifically for International Women's Day. "They look exactly like my design," she said, adding she'd already be recommending us to others. Int Women’s Day is an occasion that deserves more than a vague email from HR. And it deserves to shine a light on female founded businesses like ours.
A Valentine's Day Gift for Your Daughter
Not a romantic partner, a daughter. One customer ordered a Valentine's heart biscuit for their child, half-expecting it to be dry and disappointing. "How wrong I was!! Finally; an edible gift that tastes as fantastic as it looks." Love comes in all directions. So do biscuits.
A "Girl Who Has Everything" Birthday
The classic gifting problem: someone you love who already has everything. One customer found us specifically for that reason, a "fun and much appreciated gift for the girl who has everything." When the usual options feel hollow, a biscuit with her face, her dog, or her obsession on it rarely disappoints.
A 250-Person Valentine's Desk Drop
Think biscuits can't scale? One company ordered 250 personalised biscuits for a Valentine's Day desk drop at their office. "They arrived on time, well packaged and they are delicious! Perfect for an office treat."
A 33rd Wedding Anniversary
Not the 30th. Not the 25th. The 33rd. Celebrating love shouldn’t wait for a round number. Jacqueline found us while searching for "something a bit different" for her sister's anniversary. She received them in three days and immediately placed a second order. There's no wrong anniversary to celebrate.

A Company's 35th Birthday
Jo Ellen ordered biscuits printed with her company's 35th anniversary logo for her team. She chose biscuits because they're shareable, deliverable, and they carry a logo beautifully. "I know the team will love them." Company milestones deserve more than a Slack message.
A Granddaughter's First Letter to Father Christmas
A grandmother ordered biscuits and her granddaughter was "very excited to receive" them. So excited, in fact, that she took one to give to Father Christmas. Not a Christmas present. Not a tradition. Just a child, a biscuit, and the purest kind of magic.
The Pattern Behind All of These
What all of these occasions have in common isn't a date or a tradition. It's a feeling. The desire to mark a moment and make someone feel genuinely seen. A biscuit does that in a way a generic gift card simply can't. It's personal. It's edible. It arrives beautifully packaged. And it conveys: I thought about you.
So if you're sitting on an occasion (expected or not), that deserves a little something extra, you know where we are.
