What is it like to work at The Biskery? We can only speak for ourselves, so we thought we’d add some more voices to the mix. Namely, those of our wonderful team!

The Biskery's Strategic Partnerships & Sales Assistant, Amy Hagyard-Broscombe

What is your name and job title?

Hello! I'm Amy and work as one of the Artisan bakers and I also work on Strategic Partnerships.

Tell us about you and what you like most about what you do.

Before working at The Biskery, I worked as a Studio Manager in a very busy Design Agency. It was only after I had my girls that I found a real interest in baking. I love coming into work and being able to have adult conversation as well as doing something I really enjoy. On the other side, I can use my love of client facing roles, speaking to different brands about what we do and drumming up exciting collaborations. I get the best of both worlds! Out of work I'm a mum to two fiery girls, so my days are never dull.

Why do you believe in the company’s products/services?

All of our products are hand-made using sustainable packaging. Not only is it all delicious, but we're also looking after the planet in the best ways we can.

What gets you most excited about coming to work?

The fact that we can be creative and encouraged to find areas within the business that interest us the most pushing us to develop. And of course the delicious smell of the biscuits baking!!

Why does it matter to you to work somewhere that provides purpose and meaning?

I love being able to be creative and bake amazing biscuits that bring such joy to our customers. On the other hand, I love being able to tell our story and explaining how we got to where we are today. The company has grown so much in the last 12 months and its been very exciting to be part of that and a valued member of staff!

What were your thoughts when you first heard about The Biskery?

I love what the company stands for and why we bake! We love to spread kindness and joy! I also think its hugely important to encourage women to feel confidant and grow within their role after returning to work as a mother and The Biskery strives to do just that!

How did you first get involved with the business?

One of my friends saw a job advert for an Artisan Baker and Biscuit Decorator suggesting I applied. I was really excited with having a new found love of baking. Then after reading about the role and company ethos I was even more excited. Working for a family run business is something I've never done before. But having a young family myself, I now realise the importance of working for such a flexible employer giving you the opportunity to do the things you enjoy whilst at the same time being able to be there for those most important to you.

What’s your favourite part of working with the company’s team?

I work with some very creative and inspiring women, all of which have very similar interests. We all have a lot of banter at work whilst baking and as we're all mothers, love letting our hair down during our 'get togethers' out of work!!

Do you still like the biscuits? Which one is your favourite and why?

The biscuits are absolutely delicious! The smell when you're baking them will never grow old! Even though there all yummy, my favourite has to be the jammie biscuits

Is there anything that I haven’t asked that you would like to mention?

Having launched our rebrand only last week!! There's only exciting things ahead for The Biskery.
